British Forces Philatelic Service in partnership with the Household Division have produced a commemorative cover to mark the Trooping The Colour at this year’s HM The Queen’s Birthday Parade.
The covers include include a “Portrait commissioned by Royal Mail” 1st Class commemorative stamp which will be cancelled by the BFPS 3164 special handstamp depicting the cap badge of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.
The main image is of marching troops showing Horse Guards Parade in the background. Along the bottom of this image are the cap badges of those units that are taking part on the parade. These are The Life Guards, The Blues and Royals, The King’s Troop – Royal Horse Artillery, Grenadier Guards, Scots Guards, Welsh Guards, Irish Guards and Coldstream Guards.
Included is an A4 insert sheet with information about “Trooping The Colour 2013” and also a brief history of the Welsh Guards.
Col D L W Bossi Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards has signed 50 of these commemorative covers.
