As part of the recent restructuring of the British Armed Forces, 42 Engineer Regiment(Geographic) will relocate from Hermitage to Wyton. To mark this historic occasion the Regiment has commissioned BFPS to produce a special edition commemorative cover.
This cover, which will be cancelled using a unique handstamp, makes an excellent souvenir of this event in the Regiment’s history. It is being sold in aid of Service charities. The cover will contain an information sheet giving a potted history and highlights of its time at Hermitage.
The covers will each include a 1st Class stamp entitled “The King’s Troop Ceremonial Horses” and is cancelled by the BFPS 3174 special handstamp depicting the Regimental emblem.
The images at the top of the cover show Regimental vehicles and the Headquarters building at Hermitage.The two maps represent the present and future locations of the Regiment, Hermitage and Wyton. In the middle of these two maps is shown the regimental logo, Fougasse. The Royal Engineers belt is shown linking together the two locations old and new.
The insert and cover are contained in a cellophane sleeve to create a high quality souvenir to mark the event.
